Oastbrook Estate Sparkling Cuveé 2014 (6 Bottles) Robertsbridge, Kent, England

£200.00

UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED

This is a rich ripe, full and surprisingly generous Cuvee. Aromas of lemon, pear and apple and hedgerow flowers and hints of brioche. The palate is lovely, lush and elegant and the finish long and equally luscious with a hint of shortbread.

The grapes were pressed in a traditional Coquard press. After fermentation the base wines were kept separate and remained on their gross yeast lees over winter to develop additional complexity and richness. The base wines did not go through malolactic fermentation. Bottled in May 2014 the Cuvee was disgorged on September 2021 and has spent 87 months on the lees. This wine is a blend of 62% Chardonnay 21% Pinot Noir and 17% Pinot Meunier.

About Oastbrook Estate Vineyard

America Brewer, a winemaker and owner from Bahia, Brazil, found her passion for vines at a young age. She recalls climbing an ancient vine at her childhood home, sparking a lifelong connection. After traveling the world, America discovered her English heritage and settled in East Sussex with her family. Inspired by her childhood memories, she planted vines at her new home, an Oast house near Bodiam Castle.

The vines thrived, and America decided to produce wine. Encouraged by local vineyard owners, she studied wine production at Plumpton College. America's research revealed the unique terroir of her valley, shaped by sandstone, clay, and silt.

In 2018, America planted her first vines and established Oastbrook Vineyard, named after the natural brook surrounding her farm. Her wine is a testament to her journey, bridging her Brazilian heritage and English roots. Today, America tends to her vines with her dog Lora, crafting wine that reflects her story and the beauty of the English countryside.
