About Welcombe Hills Vineyard
Set in the picturesque Warwickshire countryside, our family-run vineyard has been producing award-winning wines since 2001. My wife, Nichola, and I, Jonathan Kelsey, took over the vineyard in 2017, bringing with us a passion for English wine and a willingness to learn.
Originally planted in 2001 as a "hobby vineyard," Welcombe Hills has grown to encompass 4.5 acres and 6,000 vines. Our vineyard boasts an impressive nine grape varieties, including Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, Bacchus, Auxerrois, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir Precoce.
Perched atop the Welcombe Hills, our vineyard enjoys stunning views of Stratford-Upon-Avon and benefits from rocky clay terroir, providing excellent drainage. We're proud to be part of a rich agricultural heritage, with the land formerly farmed by the Shakespeare family.
We're thrilled to have received numerous awards for our wines, including 5 silver medals in 2021 from Wine GB and the IEWA. Our commitment to quality and sustainability has earned us a reputation as one of the top vineyards in the region.
